ATTENDANCE:
Communities participating in the Northern Community & School Recreation Coordinator Program are the primary targets for this training. Community & School Recreation Coordinators, Supervisors and Community Partners are invited to participate with the purpose of realizing the full potential of the program; participation requirements updates; and associated opportunities and benefits of being a participating community.
Tuesday, OCTOBER 24
9:00 am to 4:00 pm – Mandatory attendance for CSRCs & Supervisors or Community Partner (as per Annual Agreement)
Wednesday, OCTOBER 25
9:00 am to 12:00 pm – Mandatory attendance for CSRCs (as per Annual Agreement)
Representatives of the Community Partner Organizations, Steering Committee, Education Division or Education Authority are always invited and welcome to attend.
OBJECTIVES:
• To provide an overview of the NC&SRCP as a function of the Northern Sport, Culture & Recreation District.
• To discuss the purpose and development of successful local programs.
• To support local program leaders in their role implementing the Northern Community & School Recreation Coordinator Program.
• To provide a networking opportunity for participants to learn from one another’s experiences.

Mandatory trainingÂ
HIGH FIVE training certifies Community & School Recreation Coordinators, teachers/instructors, programmers, and recreation workers to be able to measure and track the quality of their programs. These assessments are part of the reporting requirements for the NC&SRCP, but the main objective is to help leaders identify areas within the structure of their programs where they can make positive changes to enhance the experience of children and youth!
Training Details:
Training is open to recreation workers, teachers/instructors or programmers who work with youth in Northern Saskatchewan.
CSRCs who have not been previously certified are required to attend.
Note: NSCRD will cover the registration fee for Community & School Recreation Coordinators and a limited number of Community Partners. Travel expenses for CSRCs should be charged back to each sites NC&SRCP training budget.

HIGH FIVE QUEST 2 Quality Experience Scanning Tool
What is it?
A one-day training which teaches supervisors how to identify and manage risk as well as improve program quality through the use of the scientifically-validated QUEST 2 Tool.
Who is it for?
Supervisors/Coordinators of sport and recreation programs for children aged 6 to 12.
Why does it matter?
Supervisors learn to be proactive instead of reactive to risk management.
They will be able to identify areas of strength and weakness in programming, communicate action plans to staff and measure improvement in the quality of programs for children.
Principles of Healthy Childhood Development
What is it?
A one-day training that teaches front-line leaders how to enhance the quality of the programs they are delivering. It provides in-depth knowledge of the Principles of healthy child development so front-line leaders understand what they need to do to ensure each child’s social, emotional and cognitive needs are met.
Who is it for?
Front-line leaders or anyone working with children aged 6 to 12 in a sport and recreation environment.
Why does it matter?
Leaders have a major impact on a child’s sport and recreation experience. The training is based in research and has been designed to equip leaders with activities, knowledge, tips and resources to enhance their programs as well as their relationships with children and other staff members.

Community & School Recreation Coordinators (CSRC’S) are invited to participate with the purpose of strengthening their own personal skillset as well as working with other CSRC’s to build their toolkit.

Wednesday, May 15
9:00am to 4:00 pm – Mandatory attendance for CSRCs (as per Annual Agreement)
OBJECTIVES:
- To network with NSCRD staff as well as other CSRC’s
- To develop personal and work skills involving self awareness, personal leadership, analytical thinking, and problem solving
REGISTRATION:
There is no registration fee. CSRCs are responsible for their travel, breakfast, supper, and accommodation costs through their NC&SRCP training budget. Please send in registration forms no later than Monday, May 6, 2024
ACCOMMODATION:
Please book your accommodations as soon as possible. You are free to book at any hotel within Prince Albert, however, the sessions will be taking place at the Coronet Hotel, 3551 2nd Avenue West.
You can reach the Coronet at 306-764-6441.
The hotel will require a credit card or purchase order (P.O.) to confirm your booking. Each CSRC should follow the policies of their organization/school to ensure that expense cheques are processed in advance of the training and the hotel costs are covered according to their specific policies.
