Who should take this course: Anyone who is required to manage a play space or multiple play spaces, maintenance staff for daycares, custodians, public works staff, private contractors, owner/operators, superintendents (schools, apartment complexes and additional facilities with public play spaces).
Course objective: after successfully completing this Playground
Safety Course you will have learned:
• To understand the basic playground standards process in
Canada
• To understand the causes of significant injuries that occur on
playground equipment in Canada
• How we can inspect and maintain equipment to be free of these
hazards
• What play opportunities are appropriate or inappropriate for
children in various age groups
• To understand the basics of risk management and record
keeping
