The Northern Spirits Showcase was held on Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at the E.A. Rawlinson Centre. The Northern Spirits Showcase was a signature event of the Prince Albert Aboriginal Music & Arts Festival … and it proved to be just that!
25 youth from across Northern Saskatchewan delivered an incredible showcase displaying the amazing musical and artistic talent in the north! The showcase included solos, some sung in Cree or Dene, musician/band showcases and tributes, a comedy skit, special guests and dignitaries, jigging, beatboxing, fiddle playing, presentations of Northern Spirits Artwork created by Miriam Körner to the Northern Spirits sponsors, and a finale that left the audience full of pride and emotions! Our special thanks to Sheryl Kimbley for her incredible leadership and mentorship of the Northern Spirits Showcase.
